About us

Welcome to our virtual sustainable world.

Our story

Sustainable virtual training is the future, and VTT founders, John and Catherine, saw this coming years ago.

The way they saw it, traditional face-to-face training raised plenty of well-founded concerns when it came to safety, travel, costs, and efficiency.

However, if it were possible to deliver training to anyone AND achieve the same learning outcomes, all without the need for expensive hotel stays and carbon-heavy travel, what impact could it have for their clients?

That said, John and Catherine knew that you couldn’t just take your existing training materials, run it over Zoom, and expect to achieve the same outstanding learning outcomes that their participants no doubt deserved. Delivering powerful, live, and interactive virtual training experiences is a skill all its own, and that’s where we come in…

In 2017, John and Catherine used their 10+ years of L&D and virtual training expertise to develop The virtual training team (VTT). Their aim was to help companies and trainers enhance their performance through engaging virtual training so their people could thrive in a changing sustainable world.

5 years later, this is still the VTT mission!

Our Social
responsibility

Growing a business is demanding. You’ve got to push forwards at great speed, upgrade, invest, hire, and more besides.

But that’s not all that matters.

There’s so much business can do for communities and the people that live in them. At VTT, we take our social responsibilities seriously. Here are just some of the charities and projects we’ve been involved with:

Na’amal

We’re proud to work with Na’amal, a not-for-profit organisation that helps refugees find work no matter where they are. They do this by building programmes which support refugees and other underrepresented communities through skills training, mentorship, and remote work placement opportunities.

Living wage foundation

We are proud to be accredited by the Living wage foundation, which supports employers to tackle in work, and post work poverty. The Living wage foundation provides information, advice and support to ensure employers provide a real living wage, pension, and hours to their employees. The real living wage is the only UK wage rate based on the cost of living, and over 400,000 employees have received a pay rise as a result of the work from the foundation’s campaign.

Education for all

VTT’s 2022 sponsor of the year is Education For All, a Moroccan NGO, that builds and runs girls’ boarding houses near secondary schools, so girls from rural families have the opportunity to continue their education after primary school.

Armed forces convenant

We are a member of the Armed forces covenant, part of a pledge ensuring that those who serve or have served in the Armed forces, and their families, are treated fairly. The covenant provides support to members of the armed forces community in a number of areas such as education, family wellbeing and financial assistance, ensuring that they have the same access to government services as any other citizen.
