Being authentic

We know that diversity and inclusion are so important in the workplace. However, it can be difficult to nurture diversity if employees don’t feel able to be their authentic selves. This workshop will help participants learn how to embrace authenticity, whilst contributing to a culture of psychological safety that allows everyone to begin to ‘lift the mask’.

Impact

On your business

  • Greater employee wellbeing – employees feel that the workplace is a safe environment in which to be authentic and vulnerable; by feeling respected and comfortable within their work environment they are able to perform their role more effectively.
  • Reduce absenteeism – by fostering a culture of authenticity within the workplace, issues are resolved before they snow-ball. Stress-related illness and burnout is therefore reduced.
  • Boost retention rates – by having a healthy company culture, employees are more likely to stay within the company, ensuring talent is retained.

As a result of this workshop participants will

  • Develop a greater awareness of the individual aspects that they, their colleagues or team members might be covering, and discover the benefits of creating a safe environment that facilitates authenticity (including greater depth perspectives and more inclusive decision making).
  • Learn how to normalise work-related vulnerability in a way that builds self-esteem and worthiness.
  • Examine the boundaries of self-expression at work – how to successfully embrace authenticity and vulnerability within the professional sphere.
  • Create a plan for contributing to a psychologically safe environment that empowers both themselves and others to be authentic, vulnerable, and ‘lift the mask’.
