Learning can often leave people scratching their heads. When first starting out on a journey as a trainer, it can be helpful to develop the knowledge of how participants learn best. This is where learning theory fundamentals comes in. By understanding the process of learning, participants leave sessions with the best chance of being able to utilize their new skills and apply them in the workplace.
The workshop is focused on the “it’s all around them principle”- everything is centered around the learner and their needs. Having a good understanding of the psychology of learning, the learning theory fundamentals, and being able to understand how the learner may think is integral to planning a successful training programme. The workshop will be based on the science of learning and lays the foundations for the train the trainer programme.

Participants will reflect on their previous experiences of training sessions and consider the impact that well planned training has had on their learning, and how they can apply this to their own training methods. They will consider the optimal conditions for learning based on the five key learning theory fundamentals, and how this can enhance the process of learning transfer for their participants. It will also explore rapid skill acquisition and consider what that could look like within a training programme.
The skills acquired include a host of essential tips, an understanding of basic learning methodologies, and the “unwritten rules” for delivery- ensuring you leave transformed from a good trainer in to a great one!
