On your business

  • Productive virtual teams – who feel supported by their manager and understand how to navigate virtual working in a way that benefits themselves and the organisation.
  • Increase motivation – amongst your remote teams, boosting productivity, engagement, happiness and retention.
  • Boost efficiency – by focusing on clarity and expectation-setting, so that all team members know what is expected of them and can avoid the miscommunications and mis-directions that can otherwise occur in a virtual environment.

As a result of this workshop participants will

  • Recognise the benefits and challenges of managing a virtual team.
  • Identify what they can do to operate as more of a ‘real team’.
  • Understand the importance of clarifying ways of working, and of setting clear and explicit expectations.
  • Learn how to boost motivation within a virtual team.

Want to know more?

As more and more organisations commit to long-term remote working, the ability to manage a team virtually is becoming an essential workplace skill. Despite the many advantages of remote working, managing a virtual team can be tricky and requires an additional set of skills to in-person management. So, how can we get it right and reap the benefits of remote working for everyone?

This virtual workshop supports participants to consider the benefits and challenges of managing a virtual team, and to identify what they can do to develop their skills in remote management.

Participants will discover Michael West’s research on what makes a ‘Real Team’ and consider how this looks for a virtual team. This will provide the springboard for conversation around current ways of working and the importance of setting clear and explicit expectations. Finally, participants will explore how to boost motivation within a virtual team and create a plan to better manage their team going forward.
