What does ‘mate to manager’ mean? Well, one of the biggest shifts employees can make is from ‘doing’ to managing. As employees transition to a managerial role, they take on a new set of responsibilities, but also need to navigate a new relationship with the rest of their team.

New managers may think that having been a member of the team will make it easier for their colleagues to follow their lead and have their back but setting expectations and re-establishing boundaries, as they transition from mate to manager can be a challenge.
