The transition to a leadership role can be an exciting but also challenging time – everyone wants to be the best leader possible for their team.  But there are so many components that make up a great leader that it can often feel like spinning plates! How can leaders build confidence and credibility in themselves as a leader? And what does it really mean to lead a successful team?

Previous to the workshop, participants will have completed a 360-degree diagnostic, and the workshop will start by sharing some common thinking traps that they may fall in to when debriefing the feedback from this. 

They will then move on to a discussion of the qualities of their idea of great leader, identifying a key theme that all the qualities share – authenticity. They explore the role of authenticity in building psychological safety and trust at work and discuss what authentic leadership means to them. Finally, they identify the importance of building meaningful connections and connecting with their team to build a network of trust. Participants will bring what they have learnt together to focus on the how they could create a sense of a shared purpose and vision throughout their team – essential to driving engagement and motivation. They will come away with an understanding that there are no hard and fast rules to a “perfect leader” – but by looking inwards at ways they can improve as an individual they can lead a trusting, motivated and engaged team.
