More Information
Listening is one of the most powerful skills in professional communication. The quality of our listening directly shapes the quality of our relationships, decisions and outcomes. When people feel heard and understood, trust increases, misunderstandings reduce and conversations become more productive.
Yet effective listening is harder than it sounds. Despite best intentions, distraction, assumptions and internal dialogue can interfere – even for experienced professionals. Many people believe they are listening well, while unintentionally filtering or interpreting information too quickly. This consequently widens the gap between what is said and what is understood.
In this practical workshop, participants will explore how to move beyond basic active listening towards a more advanced, intentional approach. They will examine different listening styles and filters, learning how to flex their approach depending on the context and the needs of the speaker. The session also uncovers common internal and external barriers to listening and introduces techniques to close the “listening gap” that can derail conversations.
Participants will leave with clear, actionable strategies they can apply immediately. They will strengthen their listening mindset, build deeper professional relationships and gain sharper insight from conversations – making listening a deliberate, strategic advantage in their day-to-day work.
