More Information
Avoiding a challenging conversation can allow a small issue to become a bigger one. In this workshop, participants identify the client conversations they personally find difficult, consider the value of addressing challenges constructively and explore the potential benefits of getting this right for the client, themselves and their organisation.
Participants explore different listening approaches and consider how their default style can affect what they hear and how they respond. They then learn how to use a specific conversational model as a practical structure for handling objections, complaints and other challenging situations. This model encourages participants to listen before responding, demonstrate empathy, check their understanding, identify an appropriate solution and follow through on what has been agreed.
The workshop also explores how the choice of communication channel can influence a conversation, with participants considering when different approaches may be most appropriate. Finally, they develop strategies for bouncing back from difficult interactions and identify specific actions they can apply to future client conversations.
