More Information
Conflict is a natural part of working life, arising wherever there are different perspectives, priorities or ways of working. In fact, it’s estimated that up to 85% of employees experience some form of conflict every year. When handled well, conflict can lead to better understanding, stronger relationships and improved outcomes. Therefore, the ability to manage it constructively is a critical skill for maintaining peak team performance.
Yet many individuals find conflict uncomfortable and may avoid it or respond reactively. Without a clear approach, disagreements can escalate – this can lead to conflict becoming personal or remaining unresolved, damaging trust and productivity. Individuals may also default to unhelpful patterns, such as avoiding, competing or accommodating, without fully understanding the impact of these choices.
This workshop explores the nature and causes of conflict, helping participants reflect on their own approach and preferences. Participants will be introduced to different conflict handling modes and will learn practical techniques to navigate difficult conversations more effectively, including how to listen well, find common ground and communicate impact clearly. The learning will be applied to real workplace scenarios to build confidence and relevance.
Participants will leave with greater self-awareness and a toolkit of strategies they can use immediately. They will feel more confident approaching difficult situations, managing their emotions in these and guiding conversations towards constructive outcomes, supporting healthier working relationships and more effective collaboration.
